Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser — you can even disconnect from the internet and it will still work.
What formats can I compress?
JPG, PNG and WebP in. Output is WebP by default (25–35% smaller at the same quality); JPEG is offered as a fallback for older browsers.
Is there a file size limit?
20 MB per image, to keep memory usage safe on phones. For larger files, split them first.
Does compression reduce image quality?
Yes, slightly — compression is lossy. Keep your original file; quality 80 is the sweet spot for photos.
